Summary of where we are
Golden Spike Moment
Don Cundy: I was thinking as I was cutting and laying track, that the connection of Wolfeboro to the main line is our Golden Spike moment. The Utah Golden Spike symbolized the East-West continental connection. Like the Golden Spike, our bronze connector symbolizes the connection that made Wolfeboro into a robust lakeside community. Why not publicize this connection? We could take a picture of John soldering in the last connection to Wolfeboro….we could at least put the picture in our web page and Facebook page.

The Volunteer Dinner was held at Trenta on September 30, 2025.
On Tuesday September 30, 2025 Bob Wall and Scott Perreault from Stephan Lamb Associates conducted a model railroad landscaping clinic at the museum. The clinic covered landscaping materials, tools, and techniques. Those inexperienced in landscaping will need to be taught the techniques, and get lots of practice.
The Museum participated in the Wolfeboro Chamber of Commerce Great Pumpkin Hunt from September 24 to 26, 2025.
The Northeastern Region (NER) of the National Model Railroad Association held its “Concord Flyer” Convention on September 11-14, 2025 in Concord NH. It was hosted by the Seacoast Division of which the museum is a member. The museum was part of the tours of local model railroading layouts in conjunction with the convention. The convention included many daily clinics on various aspects of model railroading including LCC, modeling the port of Boston, milk trains, the paper industry, the ski trains, and granite quarrying.
Bob Lamb of Shrewsbury MA donated a collection of boxcars and passenger cars to the Museum. The cars are all pre-1936 from the Boston and Main. The cars were scratch built or built from kits with amazing detail. Bob has a model railroad layout in his basement with many other trains, buildings, and memorabilia of New England area.
The annual Lake Winnipesaukee Day was held on August 8, 2025 was held in Cate Park and the adjacent parking lot included activities, tents for local businesses and organization, food vendors, and a laser light show.
